New Honda Civic With Advanced Technology

July 2, 2020, Petaling Jaya – Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the largest non-national carmaker in Malaysia, has introduced the new Civic with next generation advanced technology.

The new Civic which was officially launched in February this year, has captured 70 percent of Malaysia’s C-Segment market share. To-date, the new Civic has sold 2,900 units nationwide and accumulated 6,500 bookings as of  June 2020.

“Being the segment leader, customers prefer the new Civic for its thrilling performance and exterior styling. Furthermore, equipped with the full suite of Honda Sensing to intelligently assist drivers during unsafe driving conditions, reduce blindspots, the new Civic outrivals in advanced safety features.

“The new Civic now sets an even higher benchmark in the C-segment, offering a complete technologically advanced sedan that continues to be well-received by young adults, young urban families, professionals and tech-savvy individuals. With the PENJANA initiative, this model now receives a substantial reduction, giving customers more reason to own the new Civic,” said its managing director and chief executive officer Toichi Ishiyama in a statement.

Some of the new features, which is available on its range topping variant, includes the Honda Sensing and Honda LaneWatch. At the same time, all variants are equipped with six airbags, vehicle stability assist, agile handle assist, hill start assist, emergency stop signal, anti-lock braking system, brake assist, auto brake hold, front sensors and rear seat ISOFIX anchor points.

The new Civic is powered by a 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged engine, that generates a maximum output of 171hp and a maximum torque of 220 Nm. There is also the 1.8-litre petrol engine which is available on the base variant only.

Depending on variants, the equipment lists include LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED front fog lights, new front & rear bumper design, new black paint grille, new truck spoiler and 18-inch black alloy wheels.

Currently, there are three variants of the new Civic – 1.8S Standard, 1.5 TC Standard and 1.5 TC-P Standard, which are priced at RM 109,326.51, RM 125,081.09 and RM 134,661.28, respectively. There is an additional charge of RM272.73 for the White Orchid Pearl colour. All prices mentioned are after the sales tax exemption and on-the-road price, excluding insurance.
