Bermaz Motor Celebrates Mazda’s 100th Anniversary

March 3, 2020, Subang Jaya – Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Mazda vehicles in Malaysia, has introduced three 2020 Mazda models to celebrate the 100th year of Mazda’s Motor Corporation’s establishment.

The three models are the 2020 Mazda2, 2020 Mazda CX-9 and the 2020 Mazda MX-5. All three models are officially available for bookings.
The iconic roadster 2020 Mazda MX-5 offers lightweight nimble, and fun-to-drive driving characteristics to the driver. It received an updated Mazda badging and font designs. 

Powered by  the Skyactiv-G 2.0-litre engine mated to a six-speed Skyactiv-MT manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. It produces 181 Hp at 7,000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.

The 2020 Mazda MX-5 RF now features the i-Activsense safety features that includes blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, smart city brake support and driver attention alert.

Some of the equipment list includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ready via the Mazda Connect infotainment display, ISOFIX mount on the passenger side with airbag cut-off function and many more. Selling price for the new fully-imported 2020 Mazda MX-5 RF starts from RM 266,154.

Meanwhile, the 2020 Mazda2 features styling enhancement and enhancement to its driving dynamics, as well as to comfort and convenience.

The 2020 Mazda2 exterior has been updated with a new front grille design, front LED with signature styling headlamps, refreshed 16-inch alloy wheels and Mazda badging and fonts.

Other updates include the new blue gray interior trims, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ready Mazda Connect infotainment system, newly structured front seats, retuned suspension system, retuned transmission and equipped with G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus).

The original G-Vectoring Control system varies engine torque in response to steering input in order to provide integrated control of lateral and longitudinal acceleration forces and optimise the vertical load on each wheel for smooth and efficient vehicle motion.

GVC Plus uses the brakes to add direct yaw moment control for further enhanced handling stability. As the driver steers out of a corner by returning the steering wheel to the centre position. GVC Plus applies a light braking force to the other wheels, providing a stabilising moment that helps restore the vehicle to straight line running.

The fully-imported from Thailand 2020 Mazda2 is running on the Skyactiv-G 1.5-litre engine paired with the Skyactiv-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. Pricing for the 2020 Mazda2 starts from RM 103,670.

As for the premium 7-seater SUV 2020 Mazda CX-9, the updates are the Mazda badging and fonts design, the new gray metallic finish to its 20-inch aluminium ally wheels, black leather seats with new silver stitching finish, updated 9-inch Mazda Connect infotainment screen, autohold function, i-stop function, seatbelt reminders for the rear passengers and two USB charging ports at the third-row, as well as the GVC Plus.

At the heart of the 2020 Mazda CX-9, lies the 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G turbocharged engine hooked on the six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission. It produces 228 hp at 5,000 rpm and 420 Nm of torque from 2,000 rpm. The fully-imported from Japan, 2020 Mazda CX-9 is available in both the 2-wheel drive and all-wheel drive version.

When paired with the i-Activ all-wheel drive, the 2020 Mazda CX-9 offers the all-new off-road traction assist feature that replaced the traction control button. The feature can potentially help the driver when adventuring on uneven terrain.

The 2020 Mazda CX-9 is priced from RM 319,610.40. All new Mazda vehicles registered from January 1, 2019 onwards is covered with a 5-year or 100,000km whichever comes first manufacturer warranty, and a 5-years or 100,000km whichever comes first free maintenance (except Mazda BT-50) according to manufacturer’s standard inclusive of labour, parts and lubricants.
