October 11, 2019 Kuala Lumpur – Former Volvo Trucks Malaysia managing director Mats Nilsson is the newly appointed Head for Volvo Buses Singapore, which took over from Manish Sahi in early September.

The 52 years old Swedish citizen has grown up in Sweden and studied in Scotland and Spain. He also worked in France, Belgium, Denmark and Malaysia.

Nilsson left Malaysia in August 1, 2018. Prior to his departure, he was the Volvo Trucks Malaysia president and managing director for five years, before he heads to the Renault Organisation in France for the European Trucks Sales Vice President role.

He started his career with Volvo Bus Corporation in 1995, as an area sales manager. After six years, he joined Volvo 3P for the strategic business planning manager position. In 2003, he moved to Volvo Powertrain to take up the global puchasing manager role before he headed to Renault Trucks (AB Volvo) for the regional sales manager and sales director positions in 2006.

Nilsson was the chassis purchasing vice president for Volvo 3p from 2010 to 2012 and he spent nine months as the Volvo Group Trucks Technology vice president for product planning before he took on the role in Malaysia.

With all his past experience within the group, rest assured that Volvo Buses Singapore is in good hands.
